The library of any non-profit Canadian college or university is eligible to become an affiliate member of COPPUL. The annual membership fee is $500. Affiliate membership enables a library to participate in COPPUL licenses for electronic products, the end result being cost savings through consortium discounts. Affiliate membership does not include attendance at COPPUL meetings, voting privileges, interlibrary loan and reciprocal borrowing privileges, or participation on committees and working groups. What is the application procedure to become an affiliate member? To apply for affiliate membership, the library director should send a letter to the COPPUL Executive Director stating that the library would like to join and the reasons for joining. The letter should include a brief outline of the institution and library, e.g. the FTE count, degree levels, areas of specialization, size of library holdings, and number of staff. The application would be voted on at the next Directors' meeting. The meetings are held semiannually in March and September. There is a membership agreement that the library director must sign if the application is accepted.
