COPPUL is very pleased to announce that Corey Davis from the University of Victoria Libraries has accepted a half-time position as COPPUL’s Digital Preservation Network (DPN) Manager. This newly-created, two-year appointment will begin on August 1, 2015. Corey is Systems Librarian at the University of Victoria and will spend half his time with COPPUL and half his time with his present institution. Corey has a strong background in library technology and digital preservation including experience with Archive-it, Archivematica, DSpace and LOCKSS. As COPPUL DPN Manager, he will help to develop a technical and policy infrastructure to support long term preservation of digital objects for all COPPUL members. Corey will work closely with a DPN Management Committee (Todd Mundle, Kwantlen Polytechnic University; John Durno, University of Victoria; Dana McFarland, Vancouver Island University; and Mark Jordan, Simon Fraser University, and Bronwen Sprout, University of British Columbia, who are co-chairs of the COPPUL Digital Preservation Working Group).
