The COPPUL Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristina McDavid to the position of COPPUL Executive Director for a three-year period commencing September 6th. Kristina comes to COPPUL as a secondment from UBC where she holds the position of UBC MD Undergraduate Program Librarian, a role that collaborates with colleagues at UBC Okanagan, the University of Victoria, and the University of Northern British Columbia to deliver medical programs. She also serves on a small team at UBC that manages print and electronic resources for all the sciences. In this capacity, she has developed knowledge and expertise in e-resource management and licensing, including vendor negotiations.
Kristina has developed exceptional communication and facilitation skills in her work with distributed teams and through various partnerships and collaborations. She attributes much of her success to her ability to develop productive long-term professional relationships and a collaborative approach to problem solving. Kristina also has experience in strategic planning and in developing and managing budgets. Kristina has held a variety of positions during her fifteen-year tenure at UBC, and she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the COPPUL position.
